McAllen Public Library Children's Department

Storytimes are far and away our most popular program! We offer them multiple times during the week for different age groups in accordance with our Family Place Library core standards. To find the right storytime for your little ones, check out the descriptions below!

Storytimes @ MPL Kids

 

Baby Storytime
Mondays at 10 AM

Ages 0 - 18 months

Bring your little one for stories, signs and playtime! Designed for babies birth - 18 months and their grown-up.


Toddler Storytime
Tuesdays at 10AM

Ages 1 - 3 years

A fun, interactive storytime that encourages toddlers to take part in songs, stories and play! Designed for children 18 months - 3 years old and their grown-up.


Saturday Storytime
One Saturday of the Month at 2PM

Ages 4 - 11 years.
Presented by Miss Sandra

Family storytime for all ages! Includes several stories, songs, and a themed craft.

Family Place Library Details

Family Place builds on the knowledge that good health, early learning, parental involvement and supportive communities play a critical role in young children’s growth and development.

The overall goal of Family Place Libraries is to develop and institutionalize a family friendly environment by transforming libraries into community centers for literacy, early childhood development, parent education and engagement, family support and community information.
