I don't read any nonfiction books, so if you're looking for that, you won't find any here.
I rediscovered my love for reading when I began coming to McAllen Public Library as a patron, way back in 2014. If I wasn't on my laptop draining the library's wifi for all it was worth, I would find myself browsing the 800s (Literature) section. That's where I found Hemingway, Steinbeck, McCullers, Bukowski, Orwell, Camus, Thompson, Vonnegut... the list can go on forever. These (and many more) authors opened my eyes and mind to the marvel that is fiction.
Fiction allows the reader to visualize the book's characters, setting, and many other aspects in their own mind, to their own liking. That is probably why I enjoy fiction so much - there are hardly any rules and you make all the characters as pretty or as ugly as you want!
Now that we got that out of the way... here are some of my favorite all-time fiction books. I normally don't give out recommendations so here's hoping that someone reading this, like you, finds one of these titles to their liking.
Any title with a icon next to it can only be found on our e-branch at this time. If you're into e-books and e-audiobooks give Overdrive, Libby, and RBDigital a try!
