This website has an extensive list of topics on the left side. In the main area use the search box to look up bird species. Once you are at the species page, you will see photographs, range maps, description of their habits and even audio clips of their songs and calls. Some video clips are also included.

The Birding News section is arranged by region of the US, then by state. Click to find out what is being observed in the Valley or any other part of the country. Other sections of the website will guide you to identification sources, birding events, travel to birding hotspots, even ways to share birding equipment with needy individuals joining the hobby.

The American Ornithological Society exists to advance scientific knowledge and conservation of birds. They offer opportunities for laypeople to be involved in Citizen Science, such as seasonal bird counts, online reporting and tracking tools and more.

The state of Texas offers some of the best birding in the nation, and there are many North American birds that can only be found here. With over 639 species (and counting) Texas has it all: coastline, desert, prairie and yes, even mountains.
